All proceeds benefit the theater’s capital campaign. \n“Back in the day\, a typical vaudeville performance was made up of a series of separate\, unrelated acts grouped together on a common bill\,” said Benson Theatre Executive Director Amy Ryan. “Our goal is to use this format to introduce new audiences to a diversity of local talent while raising funds for the renovation of our future home at 6054 Maple Street.” \nAly Peeler will emcee the February showcase\, which will include performances by Travis Newcombe (magic)\, The Omaha Jitterbugs (swing dancing)\, Erin Feichtinger (comedy)\, Justin Holman (poetry & American Sign Language interpretation\, a performance by Dawaune Lamont Hayes\, and more TBA! Known for his beautifully inventive original compositions and passionate performances\, Lliam plays an intriguing mix of traditional Flamenco along with Brazilian\, Cuban Classical\, Popular and some surprises. \n[“Engaging my audience and sharing my music is what energizes and inspires me. My lifetime of studying music\, flamenco\, and music from other parts has shaped my musical voice\, my compositions and sound as a whole.” — Lliam Christy] \nAfter living in Madrid in 2013\, Lliam has been based out of Los Angeles\, CA & St Louis\, MO. As a result\, he has been involved in some great projects and collaborations including: Accompanying Pop singer Pia Toscano (American Idol)\, Morrocan Roll (a Flamenco/ Middle Eastern fusion)\, SEiX (A gypsy/fusion group with Ursula Knudson and Fabrice Martinez of Fishtank Ensemble)\, The Reventones (his own group)\, and occasionally playing with Cuban Maestro Lazaro Galarraga in Sitara Son. Most recently\, in November of 2017 and February of 2018\, Lliam performed as the featured guitarist in the play “Man of La Mancha” in San Luis Obispo\, CA under the direction of Bree Valle at Cuesta College.  \nLliam just received word that the production of “Man of La Mancha” he played in February 15th won best musical 2018 from KCACTF Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. He also received 10 or so other awards for the production. DESCRIPTION:Lets kick off this spring with a benefit show at the Bside for a local family that could use our help! The bar will be open and there will be art everywhere!  \nCreative Displays by:\nDR. WEBB \nSTEVEN KAVANAUGH  \nJOHN PATRICK  \n$10 cover\nProceeds go directly to the Theone family in their time of need \n“My sister Morgan Thoene\, and her husband Brandon welcomed baby Levi in to this world on October 23rd\, 2017. Recently they started to notice that he wasn’t gaining much weight\, and has very low mobility and and muscular development in his arms and legs. After further medical testing\, doctors have diagnosed him with a rare genetic condition called congenital radial head dislocation (a disconnection of the forearms to the elbow joints) that is the cause of his impaired development and limited mobility. He is undergoing a lot of medical care and testing\, and there is still a lot we don’t know. Needless to say\, with the current state of medical care and insurance\, things are becoming very expensive for my sister’s new family of 4\, All door sales for the show will be donated to the Thoene family to assist with medical bills\, and to help them get ahead in this time of hardship.\nI want to thank Maggie and Amy for providing such an amazing venue as the B-side; as well as Dr. Webb and Steven Kavanaugh for offering their talents to help my family.
